Songs: Fall On Me, Love is All Right, Trucks in the Sky, No Magic, You Know Me Blues, Everything They Say, Breaking Point, Ten Years (Abortive), Big Ass, Em No Llaf

Wa / WhateverYou Want  (45rpm single) Released July 1980 Label: Sparlene  Producer: Norman Famous

(note: very few copies of this highly collectible 45 have surfaced.1000 were pressed in two seperate runs of 500. In some quarters it is suspected that a certain ex-wife has a few hundred copies in the back of a closet.)

Le Bonx (cassette) Released February 1981 Label: Sparlene Producer: Norman Famous

Songs: All Men Are Brothers All Sisters Are Women, Cosmic Anarchy, Have You Seen the Seen?, There Ain’t No Way, Moby Orange, Silhouettes, Punk Jazz Opus One, Them Injuns, Meditations, We Got Rolled

(note: this is the only official release by Sparky's first band, the Bonkeenies of America. It features Sparky on vocals, Norman Famous on bass, Arlene lee on electric piano and Steve Hanamura on "drum treatments". Norman Famous is , of course, Sparky's often-used psuedonym, appearing here for the first time)

What Am I Doing Wrong? / Positive Thinking (cassette single) Released July 1981 Producer: Norman Famous

(note: The Bonkeenies of America. Sparky sings and, as Norman Famous, plays bass. Same personel as the Le Bonx tape.)

Rolling Home / Major Networks (45 rpm single) Released July 1982 Producer: Norman Famous

FSGBOC (LP) released December 1983 Label: Sparlene Producer: Sparky

(note: this is Sparky’s “great lost album”. This album was recorded, mixed and sequenced when Sparky abruptly ‘retired’ from music in 1984. In 2005, the songs were digitally remastered for CD release but the project was again shelved)

Life In Antarctica (CD) released November, 1996 Label: Abominable Produced by Greg Freeman and El Sob

Songs: Cold, Velvet, I Left My Heart in San Francisco, If Two Could Be Nice, Wink of the Eye, Secret Door, Black and Blue, Side by Side, Rainy Day in the Cemetery, Russian Roulette, Your Day Will Come, The End

(note: Sparky, as Earl Grinstead plays drums, guitar and keyboards and adds vocal harmonies for the folk-rock group El Sob. Sparky functions purely as a backing musician – none of the songs are his).

Welcome to El Sob (CD) Released July, 2001 Produced by Greg Freeman and El Sob

Songs: Albatross, Wild Horses, You’re Strange, My Echo, She Means Nothing to Me, How Did You Know?, Lay Me Down, Bang Bang Bang, Fall From Grace, I’m On a Mission, Everything’s OK, Memorize Your Name

(note: El Sob’s second, and final, release. Sparky (as Earl) reprises his role as drummer and backup singer, also performing on guitar and keyboards. This time around he writes and sings two songs – She Means Nothing to Me and Fall From Grace)

Le Bonx (CD) released September, 2002 Label: Abominable Produced by Norman Famous

(note: a painstakingly remastered version of the earlier cassette, this time released under Sparky's name rather than the Bonkeenies. One song, Meditations, is deleted and two other songs, The Anson Williams Reality and How Great Thou Aren’t, are added. The running order is altered and for some reason the personnel is changed, attributing the bass playing to Sparky rather than Norman Famous.)

Won Out (CD) released November, 2003 Label: Abominable produced by Sparky

(note: another remaster of an earlier release. Also included are the songs Wa and Whatever You Want from the single along with Lend a Hand, a song not included on the original release. For some reason the song Big Ass was deleted from the running order but added as a hidden track.

FSGBOC (CD) Released November, 2004 Label: Abominable Produced by Sparky and Norman Famous

(note: the third and last of the Abominable remasters, this one adds the single Rollin’ Home / Major Networks)

Future releases:

Sparky is now working on a 2-CD anthology These Are The Times, covering his work from 1975 to 1984 which he plans to release this year. It will include most of the songs from Won Out, FSGBOC, Le Bonx and the legendary Rodent To Rodent,  plus singles and many unreleased tracks.
