Sparky and the Backorders will be performing at Berkeley's famous Starry Plough pub on Thursday, February 25th. Also on the bill are Teri Falini and Matt Payne. Teri has of course shared many bills with the Backorders. This time around she will be performing "unplugged" with hubby and musical compatriot Mark Caputo. Matt is a multi-talented musician who plays with several well-known bay area bands (Falls Protocol, All My pretty Ones and Transegrity Nine, to name 3!). This will be his first show under his own name - and the first time he'll be sharing a bill with his dad!

Currently in the works are a performance at Peri's nightclub in Fairfax in March (date to be determined) with the Youngsters, and the annual Bob Dylan birthday tribute in May.

In September of this year Sparky is planning on touring the country as part of the Peace Love and Barbeque Tour, put on by B&B Productions. Sparky will be performing with other B&B artists Los Diablos de Amor, the Gee Family Band and Ericka Davis. The tour is "designed as a fund-raising vehicle to fund organizations serving the homeless throughout the U.S.” For more information visit

Sparky is hard at work in the studio preparing These Are The Times, the long-awaited 2-CD anthology of his work from 1975 to 1984. Included will be music from all 4 of his long players (including the bulk of the legendary, never-released Rodent to Rodent), selected cuts from singles and lots of rarities.

Currently available at CD Baby and other online retailers are Winter Comes and Goes, Sparky's latest, and the 30th anniversary CD of Sparky's first album, Won Out (there are not many of these left, folks, so get yours now!).
